MAILBOXES INFORMATION

The following information is being provided to lot owners who want or need to replace their mailbox. The SRHOA Rights and Restrictions say that the mailbox should be located in accordance with USPS Guidelines and replaced with the same type, look and style of the original mailbox.

USPS Mailbox Guidelines: Put a roadside mailbox where a carrier can safely reach inside without leaving the truck. That means positioning it about 41" to 45" off the ground and back about 6" to 8" from the curb. Even if properly installed initially, many mailboxes have tilted towards the street over time. Gravity and wet conditions tend to allow the post to push the softened clay towards the roadway. If you have this problem, do some digging, straighten the post and secure it with gravel or paver base material.

The type, look and style of the replacement mailbox can be determined from the original mailbox.

There is a builder available to construct a new or repair an existing mailbox to conform to USPS and Association guidelines.

All questions or requests for mailbox repair or replacement should be directed to Karen Johnson, Property Manager Stone Ridge Homeowners at 419-601-1597 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
